For whatever reason people hate accountability, instead they prefer to come up with some lame ass excuse and people actually allow it and buy it. It amazes me everyday, the crap I see when it comes to accountability. Example, you have a goal of $5 million dollars of new revenue for the company, for this fiscal year. The person agrees to the $5 million dollar goal, then throughout the next 12 months manages to get $3 million or maybe $4.5 million, good job they say to him. Your right good job, your brought in new money but you know what you failed. Now come the excuses, oh I was working too many projects or you know we had to slide it to the right because corporate was so slow. My ass, I caught you surfing the web at least 5 times over the course of the year, that time could have been used to find new business and accomplish the goal you agreed to.

Excuses suck, man up and say I didn't make it, but I tried really hard, I learned a lot and next year I think I can make $6 million or $10 million. You just never hear that, I screwed up, I could have done better, or I didn't talk to the right people.

But what really pisses me off is when the boss, bosses, and other let people get away with it. All they are doing is allowing people to game the system. I hope it's not like this every where but it sure is in places I have worked.

My being accountable for your actions you are taking a step 95% of the population will not take and if you ask me you are better positioned against the BSers. OK that's the end of my rant.
