InBev will regret buying Bud (if it goes down)

Anheuser Busch (BUD) is rumored to be an acquisition target for InBev (a Belgium company) for $46 Billion dollars!!! There is not many things that are more American than BUD. A few that do come to mind are the auto industry (GM & Ford), baseball, and apple pie.

Point is how many Americans will stop buying BUD beer if it is a foreign owned company? My guess is a lot, I mean probably 80%-90% of all the stuff I buy is made in another country. It's nice to know that somethings are made in America for Americans.

Lots and lots of people drink BUD, watch a NASCAR race on TV, go to a sporting event, it is almost exclusively BUD beer that is sold at the venue. These people are red blooded Americans, they drink the beer because it is American, (the can is RED, WHITE AND BLUE). So what happens when these guys find out all their money that they work so hard for is going to Belgium, a place not American and famous for I don't know what; maybe waffles? I'm telling you there will be a backlash, SABMiller and Coors will be able to move in for the kill.

I bet you didn't even know BUD owned theme parks, railways, manufactures it's own cans and bottles, and is the largest recycler of aluminum cans in the United States! The company is much more than a beer making company, they own and operate just about every single aspect of the beer making process from grain to empty can.

Truly American and truly disappointing if the deal goes through, a major piece of American history goes down the tubes. Watch though if InBev does take it over, I'll bet the advertising comes out in full force about being patriotic and buying BUD. That's my guess and that's my belief.

More info about the merger and industry...
